CHESTER AND NETINA YOUNG

Chester and Netina Young are both native Texans. He was born in Alto, Texas; and she was born in Matagorda County. Sis. Netina is third generation Pentecost. She received the Holy Ghost over 50 years ago at the First Pentecostal Church in Bay City, Texas, and has been faithfully serving the Lord since that time. During the years she attended the Bay City church, she was instructed in the ways of the Lord by pastors C. M. Becton, Marvin Cole, and R. E. Johnson. Their ministry helped mold and shape her Christian life. After moving to the Houston area, she began attending Bro. Shoemake's church in Spring Branch. Chester and his family had moved to Spring and attended Faith Tabernacle, pastored by Bro. Forrest Ford. After Chester's wife passed away, his sister-in-law encouraged him to call Netina. That phone call, combined with the fact that his son and her son had become friends, began a lasting friendship that eventually led to marriage. They have five sons and one daughter (Chester has three sons; Netina has two sons and one daughter). They have eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Sis. Netina worked at Memorial City Hospital for twenty-two years. Bro. Chester recently retired from Har-Con Corporation. As a young man, he served our country in the United States Marines during the Korean conflict.

Netina enjoys gardening, sewing, reading, and being with her children and grandchildren. Chester enjoys hunting with his sons. He and his family have traveled extensively on vacations, and he still thoroughly enjoys camping…whether it be in tents, their pop-up camper, or a self-contained trailer. They have visited many of the 50 states.

While they were still working in the Houston area, they purchased property outside of Huntsville to enjoy weekend retreats, and planned to eventually utilize it as a beautiful place for retirement. And we are so glad that they did, as they are such a wonderful asset to HPC.
