MIKE AND FIDA WHEELER

Mike Wheeler was born in Fukuoka, Japan. Fida was born in San Del Remedio, San Pablo City, Phillipines.

The fact that Mike and Fida are both in church and filled with the Holy Ghost is a perfect example of the power of a personal witness. Mike received the Holy Ghost in his home in 1989 and had been searching for God and praying for direction. A co-worker of Mike's, who was a deacon in Huntsville Pentecostal Church, witnessed to him and invited him to church. He accepted the invitation to attend HPC, and there in that service found what he had been searching for. Fida's friend, Anna Marie Alvarez, was another child of God who was willing to witness and invite others to HPC. She invited Fida to a Sunday evening service. Fida witnessed the power of God and felt the Spirit of God moving in the church her very first visit. She began attending regularly as her work permitted.

Mike and Fida's friendship, and eventually their romance, began because of a flat tire one Sunday morning in October 1996. Mike helped her with her flat tire. At that time Fida was still searching out the truths of God, and Mike taught her a Bible Study. She repented, was baptized in Jesus Name, and received the Holy Ghost at Texas Women's Conference in 1997. One of their first dates was to see "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens at the Alley Theatre, accompanied by Fida's friend, Anna. They enjoyed going to the "Duck Pond" at Sam Houston Park and walking around the pond together. It was there that Mike proposed to Fida.

Mike enjoys reading the Bible, books on leadership and successful living, and history. Fida loves taking care of her precious little Nathanael, and spending time with Kima and Lori; but she also enjoys photography, scrapbooking, and gardening.

Mike and Fida desire to be witnesses, win souls to the Lord, and to use the talents that they have for the glory of God. Their prayer is that the Lord will add souls to our church, that their families would come to know Him; and that they will be able to witness to loved ones, neighbors and co-workers.
