TED AND QUITA ROUTSON

Ted and Quita Routson were born in different parts of the United States, approximately 1400 miles apart. Ted was born in Michigan; and Quita was born in Austin, Texas.

Ted's Grandmother Shields was Holy Ghost filled, and had prayed many years for Ted. After being laid off from General Motors in Flint, Michigan, Ted moved to Huntsville to accept employment with Texas Department of Criminal Justice. A fellow-employee invited him to attend church at HPC. He repented of his sins, was baptized in Jesus Name, and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. That was truly an answer to many years of prayer by his grandmother.

While Quita was living in Bastrop, Texas in 1977, two UPC girls who baby sat her small children invited her to attend the United Pentecostal Church pastored by Bro. G. R. Gowin. She accepted the invitation; and after hearing the Word of God realized her need for salvation. She obeyed Acts 2:38, repented, was baptized, and received the Holy Ghost. In 1978 she moved to Aransas Pass and began attending the church that was then pastored by Bro. Ron Smith.

A few years later, Bro. & Sis. Smith relocated to Huntsville to establish another church. It was there that Ted Routson had received the Holy Ghost and was establishing himself firmly in the Word of God. Bro. & Sis. Smith felt led to introduce their new saint, Ted Routson, to one of their former saints from Aransas Pass, Quita Franke. They were introduced in September 1990. She lived in Rockport, and Ted would drive 250 miles to see her and then drive all night to get back to Huntsville. They were married in 1991; and have both been very involved in the work of the Lord here in Huntsville since that time. We appreciate Sis. Quita's work and burden for Power Church, and we certainly appreciate Bro. Ted's smiling face as he greets and ushers, and all that he does to further the work of the Lord. When they are not busy working at the church, Quita stays busy sewing, cooking, and crafting. Ted loves to hunt, work with guns, and read.

Quita has two sons and a daughter and six grandchildren. Her son, Larry lives in Pasadena; Eric lives in Georgetown. Cassie also lives in Georgetown, where her husband, Donnie Huslage pastors the UPC church.

Ted and Quita's greatest desire for the kingdom of God is to see their families and friends filled with the Holy Ghost and living for God.
