Billy Read was born in Woodville, Texas. He was the sixth of eight children born to Henry and Margaret Read. Since he was part of a large family, he learned to cook early in life. He still enjoys cooking. In fact, he could probably be employed as one of Houston's gourmet chefs….but we're glad he is here in Huntsville instead.

After graduating from Woodville High School, Billy became a student at Sam Houston University. It was there that he met Randy Petty, who invited him to Huntsville Pentecostal Church. That invitation changed Billy's life, because it was at HPC that he found what he had been searching for...salvation for his soul. He was baptized in Jesus Name and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Church now is the most important thing in Billy's life. His greatest desire is for his family and friends to be saved; and that he might become as bold as a lion, but as gentle as a lamb with the Gospel of God to those he comes in contact with daily. Billy's prayer is that the Lord will bless him with a godly wife and that the two of them will be a blessing to others.
