THE
DAVID LUNA FAMILY
David and Gloria Luna were teenagers when they met while working together in the cotton fields in Navasota, Texas. Since they were both so young, they were not allowed to date, but they corresponded for two years. As a young girl, Gloria was a devout catholic and had taken all of the steps necessary to become a nun. However, after corresponding with her future husband, David, for two years, they decided to elope, and therefore her plans to become a nun were dismissed. What Gloria did not know was that David had been brought up in the Pentecostal Church. David's mother witnessed to Gloria and showed her in the Bible about repentance, baptism in Jesus Name, and receiving the Holy Ghost. This was all new and exciting to Gloria. David's mother passed away in 1973, and at that time David and Gloria moved to Indiana, where he had lived as a youngster. One of his sisters lived there, and she also witnessed to Gloria about the peace that the Lord could give if she would submit her life to Him. It was at that time in her life, in 1973, after both her mother-in-law and sister-in-law had told her about the love of God that she first attended a Pentecostal church. She submitted her life to the Lord, repented of her sins, was baptized in Jesus Name, and received the Holy Ghost. And now Gloria witnesses to others about what the Lord has done in her life, and the fact that what He has done for her, He will do for others. It is very evident that she wants to reach out to those who have not yet heard this glorious truth. David and Gloria have two daughters and one son, and five adorable grandchildren. We all know that Gloria
loves to cook (we love her enchiladas); and her hobby is photography. Be sure
and smile for her, as you never know when she will have her digital camera
pointing towards you. |
