James
and Zelma Litzmann
Sis. Zelma Litzmann was the tenth of eleven children, the daughter of
Ethel and Charlie Hooper. Until after she was married, Zelma had never
been more than 65 miles away from her place of birth in Center, Texas.
She is second generation Pentecost, and received the Holy Ghost when she
was 14 years old. As a very young teenager, at youth camp, she felt a
special touch of God upon her life.
Bro. James Litzmann was born in Galveston, Texas. He was an only child,
the son of Werner and Dixie Litzmann. Because his father was in the U.
S. Marines, they moved quite often across the United States, from California
to North Carolina, and to Texas. His family settled in San Augustine,
Texas when he was a freshman in high school.
James was baptized when he was an infant as Lutheran, but had never attended
church until he met Zelma. Since that was the only way he could see Zelma,
he began attended the Pentecostal Church in Center, Texas.
James and Zelma met during the summer of 1973 when they were 17 years
old. They dated for ten months and were married during their senior year
of high school. After they graduated from high school they moved to Lufkin
for a short while, and then in 1974 moved to Huntsville, at which time
James went to work for the State. They regret that several years of their
lives were spent outside the church; but we thank God for all that He
is presently doing in their lives.
James and Zelma have two daughters, Jennifer Linn and Amanda Dianne, who
were born in Huntsville; and they now have two beautiful granddaughters...Jenna
Linn who is 5 years old, and Kelsey Dianne, who is 1 year old. Jennifer
and her husband, Kristopher Drane, and their two daughters live in Huntsville;
and Amanda lives in Lubbock.
The most important prayer requests that Bro. & Sis. Litzmann would
like for you to help them pray about are: the growth of Huntsville Pentecostal
Church and binding together as a church; for strength, wisdom and courage
to be the perfect example for living for God; and for their children and
their families.
Let's remember the Litzmanns in our prayers each day.
